Mauricio Pochettino says Southampton are in a 'good moment' as he prepares to lock horns with his former club for the first time on Sunday.

Head Coach Mauricio joined us from St Marys in the summer after guiding Saints to their highest Premier League finish of eighth last term.

Southampton have started the season well and arrive at the Lane on the back of five straight wins in all competitions.

“They are in a good moment, a good period in the Premier League and they have a strong team,” said Mauricio.

“It’s a tough game for us on Sunday. They’ve had a very good start of the season, they are at the top of the table, they are playing well and we expect a very tough game.”

Mauricio reiterated that we’ll be looking to build on last week’s performance in the 1-1 derby draw at the Emirates. “This is the key,” he added.

“We want to show the same performance at White Hart Lane on Sunday. That’s important for us.”
