Spurs vs Palace - Daws ready for battle

Fri 10 January 2014, 14:37|Tottenham Hotspur

Michael Dawson believes in ‘knowing thine enemy’ – and with that in mind he’s ready to take on Crystal Palace on Saturday.

We conquered the Eagles on the opening day of the season, with a Roberto Soldado penalty the difference between the sides at Selhurst Park.

Now, with Tony Pulis in charge of Palace, our paths cross again at White Hart Lane – and club skipper Daws has a fair idea of what to expect.

“It’ll be another tough one,” he said ahead of Saturday’s clash. “Palace are now under Tony Pulis and when you come up against teams you know what they’re all about.

“We know the style they’re going to play but it’s not about them, it’s about what we do.”

Michael made specific reference to the positive results the Eagles have enjoyed of late, but he was also keen to highlight our own marvellous form in the Premier League.

Prior to last week’s FA Cup defeat to Arsenal, we’d won three and drawn one of our four most recent top flight outings – and that’s a run of results Daws is keen to prolong.

“Palace have picked up some good results in recent weeks and I’m sure they’ll be coming here and looking forward to it,” he said.

“But lately we’ve had some good results, bar the FA Cup, and hopefully we can keep our league form going.”
