Vlad Chiriches has emphasised the importance of a winning mentality as we get set to host Crystal Palace this weekend.

Tony Pulis brings his battling Eagles to White Hart Lane on Saturday afternoon – but while the visitors are enjoying a renaissance period after a tough start to the campaign, our own Premier League form means we’ll be confident of getting a result against the 18th-placed side.

“It’s very important to win and to keep winning,” said our Romanian central defender. “That will help us with our confidence. It does help to have a good run of games where you’re picking up results.

“If you’re strong mentally it’s easier to win games.”

We go into the weekend sixth in the top flight standings – two points off fourth placed Liverpool.

And Vlad says three points from our all-London affair with the Eagles will do nicely, as we seek to build on the 3-0 win against Stoke City we enjoyed last time out at the Lane.

“I think it’s obviously very important to pick up another win, especially because it’s a derby,” the 24-year-old added.

“A positive result will help us to go further up the table, which is obviously where we all want to be.”
