Spurs vs Norwich U21s - Ugo's preview

Mon 16 March 2015, 12:05|Tottenham Hotspur

Ugo Ehiogu has urged our Under-21s to take the game to Norwich City when we meet the Canaries at the Training Centre this afternoon.

We resume Barclays Under-21 Premier League duties at 2pm, with a much-changed side from that which drew 1-1 at Manchester United six days ago.

Nevertheless, Under-21s Coach Ugo is looking for a positive performance.

“First of all we’re looking for the boys to compete,” he said. “We’re limited with our numbers so there’s a chance and an opportunity for some boys who haven’t regularly played to step in and show us what they can do.

“Both teams are in decent form, in the last five games we’ve picked up very similar points totals – nine and eight respectively – so we expect a decent football match.

“The conditions should be fairly good to try to play. We want our boys to play out, to take risks in the final third and to play with aggression and good tempo.

“I want to see us create chances to try to win the football match.”

DeAndre Yedlin has been named in the squad, having made his Barclays Under-21 Premier League debut in our 3-1 win at West Ham back in January.
