Spurs vs Norwich - Andre's preview
13 September 2013|Tottenham Hotspur
Andre Villas-Boas insists the team will take motivation from our results against Norwich City last season.
We couldn't topple Chris Hughton's men in three attempts in 2012-13.
Robert Snodgrass grabbed a point for the Canaries with a late goal at the Lane in September after Mousa Dembele scored on his debut.
We tumbled out of the Capital One Cup after a 2-1 loss at Carrow Road having dominated and led 1-0 through Gareth Bale. Norwich scored twice in the final five minutes to go through and we missed a late penalty to level.
In the return Premier League fixture last December, Gareth Bale levelled in the 79th minute as we drew 1-1.
Both squads have changed since then and as we captured seven top signings, Norwich were also busy in the summer with the arrival of the likes of Ricky van Wolfswinkel, Leroy Fer and Nathan Redmond.
"Our motivation must be to beat a team we couldn’t beat last season," said Andre.
"Norwich are difficult to play against. They have strength, they are well organised and well managed by Chris Hughton.
"We will approach the game in a serious way. We have to be responsible, like we were against Swansea. If we do that, we will have the conditions to win.
"It won't be easy though. Norwich had great transfer activity as well and look strong this season."
