Spurs vs Leicester - Mauricio's preview

Mauricio Pochettino is delighted to have a fully-fit squad for 'another tough test' as we step back into FA Cup action with a fourth round tie against Leicester City at the Lane this afternoon.

The team continues to fight on all three cup fronts and is preparing for our 37th competitive match of the season against the Foxes.

Despite the heavy schedule, the squad is fully fit with Nacer Chadli (family bereavement) and Nabil Bentaleb (on AFCON duty with Algeria) unavailable.

“Everyone is fit and I’m happy about that because we have a busy period ahead, lots of games and it’s important,” said Mauricio.

“We analyse every player and every game to select the best players to try to get the victory. We spend a lot of time with the analysts and with the medical department and that’s how we work.

“We’re very happy because all players are available after 36 games and we need to congratulate all the staff because that’s a great job.”

We were pushed all the way by Leicester in our 2-1 victory at the King Power Stadium in the Premier League on Boxing Day and Mauricio expects no less of a test at the Lane.

“Every game is tough,” he said. “It’s a different competition and an important competition for us. I’m sure there will be a great atmosphere and we need to focus.

“Leicester have produced some good performances this season and that is probably not reflected in their results or current league position.

“We know from our experience of playing them at the King Power Stadium on Boxing Day that they are a dangerous opponent and we will certainly expect another tough match.”
