Spurs vs Hull - Brad keen to advance

30 October 2013|Tottenham Hotspur

Brad Friedel insists progress in the Capital One Cup is on everybody’s mind as we prepare to take on Hull City this evening.

We meet the Tigers at White Hart Lane for the second time in four days, following our 1-0 victory in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

We found it tough to break down a stubborn Hull resistance at the weekend, with Roberto Soldado’s late penalty all that separated the sides.

And experienced goalkeeper Brad insists we’re keen to secure a second victory over Steve Bruce’s men, with a place in the quarter-finals of the Capital One Cup up for grabs.

“I thought Hull defended really well and played really well in the game on Sunday,” said the 42-year-old, who has kept clean sheets in four of the five matches he’s played against the Tigers throughout his career.

“They made it difficult for us.

“But the gaffer takes every competition seriously and I’m sure we’ll put a strong team out.

“We want to do well in the competition so that’s how we take it, we want to advance.”

The winners of tonight's tie will be represented by ball number eight in the draw for the fifth round, which takes place after this evening's live televised tie between Newcastle United and Manchester City.
