Spurs vs Hull - Andre's preview

27 October 2013|Tottenham Hotspur

Andre Villas-Boas has praised Hull's start back in the Premier League - but is determined to register back-to-back wins as we meet the Tigers twice in the space of four days at White Hart Lane.

First up, it’s a Premier League encounter on Sunday (4pm) followed by Wednesday night’s (7.45pm) Capital One Cup fourth round tie.

Steve Bruce’s team - including current Spur Jake Livermore on loan (ineligible for this game) and ex-Spur, Tom Huddlestone - sit ninth in the Premier League.

They’ve only lost three of their nine fixtures and only twice in eight since the opening-day defeat at Chelsea.

“From all of the teams that came up, they’ve made the best start,” said Andre.

“This is a very important fixture for us. We hope to continue to do well after our jump back to form against Villa.

“It’s a game we will approach in a very serious way, and that goes for both fixtures against Hull.

“If we can win both, it would put us in a great position, not just in the Premier League, but in the Capital One Cup as well, if we can go through.

“It’s a big week for us. We started well with the 2-0 win in Moldova and hopefully we can continue against Hull.”
