Spurs vs Fulham - Tim's preview

Fri 18 April 2014, 15:20|Tottenham Hotspur

Tim Sherwood has called for a quick start from the lads against Fulham.

We host the Cottagers at White Hart Lane on Saturday lunchtime, keen to complete a league double over our London rivals after a 2-1 win in the reverse fixture back in December.

But after we found ourselves 2-0 down inside four minutes at West Brom last week, Head Coach Tim has called for ruthlessness from the very first whistle against Felix Magath’s side.

“It was a one-sided football match at The Hawthorns but it was a poor start,” Tim said. “That’s been a common theme this season and we’ve got to try and put that right.

“Our fans are going to come to the game and expect us to score goals, but we need to make sure that we keep the door shut at the opposite end as well.”

The Cottagers are in the thick of a relegation scrap heading into Saturday’s match and, as such, will be keen to leave the Lane with all three points.

But Tim insists the visitors won’t be the only ones determined to win the game.

“They’re fighting for their lives and we know it will be difficult,” Tim added. “But as I keep saying, our need is as great as theirs.

“There are no easy games but it’s always been the aim to just get as many points as we can and finish up as high as we possibly can, so we’ll continue in that vein on Saturday.”
