Mauricio Pochettino is in little doubt as to the quality of opposition we face as Championship leaders Nottingham Forest arrive at the Lane in the third round of the Capital One Cup tonight.
“We have tough opponents,” said the Head Coach. “Forest are unbeaten this season, they are the top of the Championship and a very good team playing with confidence. We expect a tough game.”
Stuart Pearce’s men have yet to have their colours lowered in 10 competitive matches so far this term.
They started their Capital Cup campaign back on August 12 with a 1-0 win at Tranmere and beat Huddersfield 2-0 in the second round.
“They are an aggressive team, a strong team, they press high and try to play,” added Mauricio.
“There are no surprises for tomorrow. We have to be ready and to have the same level of aggression because we expect a tough game and we have to be ready.
“After the loss against West Brom we need to recover our confidence, try to win, to have a good performance and go into the next round.”
