Mauricio Pochettino is full of respect for his Everton counterpart Roberto Martinez – and he’d love to put one over him today (Sunday, November 30).
Everton have started to hit form and arrive at the Lane for the 4pm kick-off on a run of five unbeaten matches in the Premier League.
That has lifted them up to ninth in the table - on the same 17 points as us - and their confidence was further boosted with a 2-0 win at Wolfsburg in the Europa League on Thursday to join us in the knockout stage of the competition.
“It’s a very important game,” said Mauricio.
“Everton are a very good team, we expect a tough game and we need to be all together, to create a good energy with our supporters, we need their support and we need to try to get the three points.
“It’s a big game for us after the victory at Hull. We need to get a win at home.
“Roberto Martinez is a very good friend, a very good person, a great manager and I’ll be happy to see him again on Sunday.”
