Spurs vs Everton - betting preview with Betfred

Fri 07 February 2014, 10:37|Tottenham Hotspur

Everton’s record at top-eight finishers in the past two seasons is nine defeats and no wins from 14 matches.

They have won at Old Trafford this term but they’ve lost two of their other three trips to teams in the top eight and remain unconvincing away to the best teams.

With Lukaku out for the Toffees they look significantly weaker and Spurs can be backed to take all three points at Evens.

Everton have kept just one clean sheet in their last 10 matches while Spurs have conceded in 12 of their last 14 so we expect goals.

Six of Spurs’ last nine home matches against top-half teams have had at least three goals and just one has been goalless at the break. While Lukaku’s absence has weakened the Toffees attack, Gerard Deulofeu may be fit enough to make the bench and Ross Barkley is likely to start.

Four of their last six trips to top-half teams have had at least three goals and that can be backed at 4/5.

Since Boxing Day Christian Eriksen has scored in three of seven Barclays Premier League games, during which he’s taken 16 shots – only failing to shoot against Man City.

In comparison, Emmanuel Adebayor has taken just 10 shots in these games. Having now adjusted to life at Spurs the Dane looks good value to find the net again this weekend at 7/2.
