Spurs vs Dnipro - Tim's preview

Thu 27 February 2014, 13:15|Tottenham Hotspur

Tim Sherwood is looking for the team to get on the front foot and put Dnipro to the test in tonight's Europa League Round of 32, second leg at the Lane.

We have to turn around a 1-0 deficit back on home soil after Yevhen Konoplyanka’s late penalty won the first leg for the Ukraine side.

Head Coach Tim and the players have all stated their desire to put matters right not just after the loss in Dnipropetrovsk, but after succumbing to a first loss in eight away matches in the Premier League at Norwich on Sunday.

“We’re confident we can turn it around,” said Tim. “It would have been great to have nicked an away goal, unfortunately we didn’t do that.

“But we’ll play better than we did out there, the surface will be better and hopefully we’ll get on the front foot as soon as possible and put them under pressure.

“Dnipro have threats, decent players and are quick on the break. I would have liked to have seen us get at them a bit more as I’m not sure how strong they are defensively. We’ll find that out.

“We know any team left in this stage of the competition will be decent.

“We saw some surprise results, Ajax, for instance, have an uphill struggle against Salzburg. Everyone is in it to win it at this stage and we certainly are.

“The fans will play a part. They’ll stick with us and they can lift the players, definitely.”
