Spurs vs Chelsea U18s - Kieran's preview
Fri 26 September 2014, 13:43|Tottenham Hotspur
Kieran McKenna has challenged our Under-18s to shake off their recent status as draw specialists as they prepare to take on Chelsea on Saturday morning.
Our last four Barclays Under-18 Premier League matches have all ended with a share of the spoils, the latest being last weekend’s hard-fought 1-1 draw at Leicester City.
Ahead of the lads’ first home London derby of the season against the Blues, Under-18s Coach Kieran wants to see the players maintain their good performances while looking to turn draws into wins.
“In most of the games so far, if not all of them, the performances have been very pleasing but in a league format wins are obviously a lot more valuable than draws,” said Kieran.
“Hopefully over the next few games we will see some individuals step up and make the difference in terms of winning matches.”
On the challenge against Chelsea, Kieran added: “It’s always a good game against them. We had two really competitive matches last year and we had a good test against them this year in pre-season so we’re looking forward to it.”
Kick-off on Saturday is at 11am. We’ll have live updates on Twitter @SpursOfficial along with a match report here on tottenhamhotspur.com after the game.
