Tim Sherwood has underlined the importance of hard graft as we face a Cardiff side fighting for their lives on Sunday.
Head Coach Tim feels confidence is buoyant after Thursday night’s thrilling victory over Dnipro in the Europa League.
We’re back at the Lane for a 4.30pm kick-off to face a Bluebirds team currently sitting in the relegation zone in the Premier League.
Tim, determined to register two home wins in four days after losing the first leg in Dnipro and then at Norwich last weekend, knows we’re in for a test.
“We bounce into the Cardiff game now after such a good result against Dnipro,” said Tim. “I’m sure the fans will be right up for it as well.
“They are at the bottom of the league and they are fighting for their lives but we know they have mavericks on the pitch who can be match winners on their day. But if we play like we can, we’ll win the game.
“Everyone will come here and expect a lot of goals, that we’ll roll them over but it doesn’t work like that.
“We have to go out there and match them for commitment and spirit first, then our quality will shine through. That’s what I’ll be telling the players.
“We have to work hard, do that, match them and then the quality shines through. It doesn’t just happen.”
