Spurs vs Asteras - betting preview with Marathonbet

Thu 23 October 2014, 06:02|Tottenham Hotspur

Spurs Head Coach Mauricio Pochettino will be looking for an immediate return to winning ways after the weekend’s defeat at Manchester City.

A 1-0 win over Southampton prior to that had seen Spurs extend an undefeated streak to four games and they will be looking to re-discover that form, starting with a win over Asteras Tripolis.

The Greek side head into tonight’s match on the back of a 1-1 draw with Panetolikos, continuing an indifferent start to their domestic campaign.

However, Staikos Vergetis’ men have had an impressive UEFA Europa League adventure so far, seeing off the likes of Mainz 05 and Maccabi Tel Aviv in qualifying, and currently sit at the top of Group C.

Stubborn Asteras are on the back of a seven match unbeaten run in all competitions, but the hosts will be confident of a win having tasted defeat just twice at White Hart Lane all season.

Spurs striker Roberto Soldado scored five goals in the competition last season and the Spaniard is 7/2 to grab the first goal of the evening.

Meanwhile, Christian Eriksen has been increasingly impressive of late, notching his third goal of the season at the Etihad on Saturday, and the Dane is tempting at evens to score anytime.

A Spurs win to nil is 99/100, while the hosts are a generous 23/5 to win by three goals.
