Spurs v Wolves U18s - Kieran's preview
18 March 2016|Tottenham Hotspur
Our Under-18s will look to get back to winning ways when Wolverhampton Wanderers come to the Training Centre on Saturday, with Under-18s Coach Kieran McKenna seeking positive performances from those in Lilywhite shirts.
After winning four games on the spin in the Barclays Under-18 Premier League in February, we’re yet to pick up any points in March after back-to-back defeats at Leicester City and Sunderland.
With certain players reporting for international duty this week and a domestic youth tournament in Germany coming up next weekend, Kieran is set to shuffle his pack for the visit of Wolves, kick-off 12noon.
But, as always, he’s urged the boys who take to the field to let their talents shine through in a bid to come out of the game in credit.
“It’s the last league game before we go to Dusseldorf next weekend and we’re coming up to the international break so as usual the team will change but it’s really important that those coming in make an impression,” he said.
“It’s important for the group as well that we get back to winning ways. It was obviously a disappointing result last Saturday at Sunderland – there were some pleasing aspects of the performance but we don’t want the group to get into the habit of losing so individually we want the players to excel against Wolves.
“It’s important that those who go out and represent the group do their utmost to get a positive result.”
