Spurs v West Ham - fans' preview with Eric Dier
20 November 2015|Tottenham Hotspur
In a new feature, we've handed over one of our pre-match previews to you, the fans!
Every week, we'll sit down with a player and fire YOUR questions at him ahead of the weekend's fixture.
To get involved, go to @SpursOfficial on Twitter, look out for the player who we'll be interviewing and send us a question!
First up - and fresh from his debut and then first start for England this week - Eric Dier.
Eric: “I’m very good Matt. How are you?”
Eric: “I enjoyed every minute and it’s hard to single anything out. I enjoyed Dele’s goal, that was great. For me, the best part was that it was my first start, it was at Wembley and winning the game. I’m being greedy there, that’s three things.”
Eric: “Yes, maybe when I look back I think I’ve surprised myself but everything has happened so quickly I haven’t really had time to think about it. We play game after game after game. We don’t really have time to stop and think. I’m enjoying it at the moment as well and I’ll try to play as well as I can, enjoy it and keep improving.”
Eric: “I don’t know! Hopefully high! I don’t care who scores as long as we get the result we want. It’s about time I scored another goal!”
Eric: “Whatever the lads have on in the dressing room. I’m not in charge of that! I don’t think they want me in charge either! There’s a mixture of R&B and Hip-Hop in there before a game. I enjoy every type of music, so that’s good.”
Eric: “I really liked Roy Keane and Rafa Marquez, who played for Barcelona. I enjoyed watching those two. Later on, I liked Gerard Pique. So I’ll go with those three.”
Eric: “That was at Euro 2004 when England were training at the National Stadium in Portugal. I was living there then and I think my sister won a competition at school to go and watch them train, so I went with my family and met him. I’ve got that picture at home. Dreams can come true. I’m so Beckham will have a picture with someone he looked up to. Then it was him. I don’t think I’ll ever get to his heights of stardom but it’s a great picture."
