Spurs v West Brom U18s - Kieran's preview
26 February 2016|Tottenham Hotspur
Kieran McKenna has underlined the need for focus from our Under-18s as we get the second phase of the Barclays Under-18 Premier League season underway at home to West Bromwich Albion on Saturday.
We rounded off the first stage of the competition in fine style last weekend, registering a 4-0 victory over Arsenal.
But ahead of our clash with the Baggies at the Training Centre, kick-off 12noon, Under-18s Coach Kieran says the players cannot take anything for granted after the last result and is once again looking for positive performances as we embark on a seven-game mini-league programme between the fourth to eighth-placed sides from the northern and southern divisions to take us up to the end of the domestic season.
“Obviously we’re coming off the back of a pleasing performance last week and we’ve been moving in the right direction over the last few weeks, but we’ll certainly make sure there’s nobody still dining out on one good day,” he said.
“Everyone knows there’s considerable room for improvement and there has been right throughout the season so there will be no mention of any games that have gone on in the past, it will all be about taking on the next challenge and that’s at home to West Brom.
“As always, we want the boys to show a good mentality, be brave on the ball and hopefully show our qualities to go and win the game.”
