Spurs v Sunderland - magic moment
15 January 2016|Tottenham Hotspur
Stephen Carr's Spurs career went into overdrive at the turn of the century - and he waved the chequered flag on the 1999-2000 campaign with a fine goal against Sunderland.
This was the season the flying full-back scored his memorable 30-yarder against Manchester United's 1999 treble winners and he followed up with a goal as subtle as that strike was thunderous.
Picking up the ball in his own half, Stephen raced down the right but then had the presence of mind to dink a chip over Sunderland goalkeeper Thomas Sorensen from the edge of the box into the far corner.
The Republic of Ireland star went on to achieve selection from his peers into the PFA Premier League of the Year in 2001 and 2003 before moving to Newcastle ahead of the 2004-05 campaign.
A product of our youth system, Stephen made his debut aged just 16 in 1993 and went onto make 270 appearances for us. After spells at Newcastle and Birmingham, he retired in 2013.
