Spurs v Reading U18s - Kieran's preview

18 September 2015|Tottenham Hotspur

Kieran McKenna says there’s “healthy” competition for places ahead of what he expects to be a difficult test for our Under-18s on Saturday.

Reading are our visitors as we return to Barclays Under-18 Premier League action at the Training Centre following a 2-2 draw at Aston Villa last weekend.

With a number of players back in the fold after international duty, Under-18s Coach Kieran said there have been a lot of positive vibes on the training pitches this week with all the boys eager to test themselves against the Royals.

“Reading has always been a tough fixture over the last few years,” he said. “They always come very well prepared, but we’re coming off the back of a pleasing performance against Aston Villa last weekend and the boys have trained really well this week.

“We’ve got everyone back from international duty so we have a full squad of people fit and available to choose from.

“The boys have had real competition for places in training and that can only be healthy, so there’s no reason why we shouldn’t put on a good performance.”

Kick-off on Saturday is at 12noon. Follow us on Twitter @SpursOfficial for live updates from the game.
