Spurs v Monaco - form guide and facts

10 December 2015|Tottenham Hotspur

It's 10 weeks since we locked horns with Monaco in Matchday Two of the Europa League - here's the French team's form guide since October 1...

Domestic form - Monaco are fourth in Ligue 1 having lost just three of 17 league games all season. They've lost one of nine Ligue 1 games - at Bordeaux on November 8 - since October 1. PSG are unbeaten and 15 points clear.

European form - Monaco came into the Europa League after losing to Valencia in the Champions League play-off. They have drawn three of their five matches so far, including our meeting at Stade Louis II. They looked in good shape to qualify until they were shocked 2-0 at home by Anderlecht in MD5.

Goalscorers - Lacina Traore is Monaco's top scorer in the Europa League with two goals. Domestically, four players are on three goals - Almamy Toure, Bernado Silva, Mario Pasalic and Thomas Lemar.

As it stands - Monaco can still qualify for the knockout stage, but it's now out of their hands. Anderlecht take on Qarabag in Belgium and sit one point ahead of the French team. If they beat Qarabag, Monaco are out. We need a point to make absolutely certain of winning the group.

History - Tonight will be our eighth match against French opposition. We played Lyon over two legs in the UEFA Cup in 1967 (won 4-3 on aggregate), Nantes in the UEFA Cup in 1971 (won 1-0 on aggregate) and then Lyon again in the Europa League in 2013 (won 3-2 on aggregate). We've won three out of three against French teams at the Lane so far.
