Spurs v Leicester U21s - Ugo's preview
21 September 2015|Tottenham Hotspur
Ugo Ehiogu says he’s “looking for answers” from our players as we get set to take on Leicester City in the Barclays Under-21 Premier League today (Monday, September 20).
A disappointing 4-1 defeat at the hands of Reading last week has left our youngsters determined to turn their form around when the Foxes visit the Training Centre for a 1pm kick-off.
Looking ahead to the game, Under-21s Coach Ugo says some of the boys may have to go back to basics in a bid to fulfil their potential.
“As always it’ll be a physical and technical battle today,” he said. “We have to do more to win the physical battle and show the basic requirements that you need to win a football match.
“It’s a test for the boys but they’ve got to be able to enjoy coming through that test and still be able to hit their identities and play well, whatever that requires.
“Whichever opponent you come up against, you’re looking for answers from the players and inevitably you get some anxiety when you’re in a bad run but that’s something that the boys are going to have to deal with in their careers – hopefully not too often.
“We’re looking at characters to see who is able to adapt.”
