Spurs v Gillingham - team news, including Harry Kane update
20 September 2016|Tottenham Hotspur
Mauricio Pochettino has confirmed that Harry Kane has suffered ligament damage to his right ankle.
The striker turned his ankle in a challenge and was stretchered off late in Sunday's Premier League match against Sunderland having earlier scored the only goal of the game.
"Harry has an ankle ligament injury and we will see, we need to assess him every day but at the moment, we cannot give a time for him to be available again," reported Mauricio after training on Tuesday.
Mauricio also said Eric Dier and Mousa Dembele would undergo scans today after both left the action early against Sunderland. "We will have to wait and see but I don't think there will be a big issue," he added.
Harry's absence looks set to hand a starting chance to fellow striker Vincent Janssen as we prepare to face Gillingham in the EFL third round at the Lane tomorrow evening (8pm).
Mauricio added: "It's important to have a strong squad and when something like this happens, the players are all ready to play and compete."
Meanwhile, Danny Rose continues his recovery from a hamstring injury.
