Spurs v Fulham U18s - Kieran's preview
04 September 2015|Tottenham Hotspur
Our Under-18s return to domestic duty with a home match against Fulham on Saturday, with the international break potentially paving the way for some different faces to be involved.
It’s been a fortnight since our last Barclays Under-18 Premier League outing, a 3-1 win at Southampton.
A number of our younger players are away representing their countries in different age categories this week, however, with Under-18s Coach Kieran McKenna expecting squad rotation to come into play as the lads look to continue their unbeaten start to 2015-16 against the Cottagers at Hotspur Way.
“We’ve got up to 15 international players away between Under-17 and Under-21 age groups so that presents a really good opportunity in terms of training and games for some other members of the squad,” said Kieran.
“This week a few of the Under-18s have had a great chance to train with some of the senior players and obviously when we take on Fulham in Saturday’s match it’s again an opportunity for some players to come in and hopefully make a positive impression.
“Last time out in the league against Southampton, the performance was really pleasing after a slow start, so we’ll be looking to start quickly and hopefully perform to an even better level to what we did in that game.
“Most of the performances so far have been to a really high level but it’s still early in the season and there remains a lot of scope for improvement.”
