Spurs v Chelsea U18s - Kieran's preview
02 October 2015|Tottenham Hotspur
Our Under-18s return to league action against Chelsea this weekend, with Kieran McKenna looking for renewed endeavour from the players after a testing few weeks on the pitch.
We’ve suffered disappointing defeats to Reading and Arsenal in our last two Barclays Under-18 Premier League fixtures, but we start afresh against the Blues on Saturday morning after 10 days without a game.
Kieran, our Under-18s Coach, says the players are eager to put on a good performance against our London rivals and has spoken about the need to work hard for the full 90 minutes if the boys are to get back to winning ways.
“We played Chelsea quite a few times last year and had some really good games, so it’s a match that we’re all looking forward to,” he said.
“Training this week has been very, very competitive. Something that we’ve emphasised after a couple of disappointing results is the need to compete well and to make sure that the eternal values of hard work and commitment on and off the ball are there.
“That’s something that we’ll be looking to bring into the game on Saturday.
“With that, whenever we come up against Chelsea we usually have a high-quality game both technically and tactically so it should make for a good test this weekend.”
Kick-off at the Training Centre on Saturday is at 11am. Follow us on Twitter @SpursOfficial for live updates.
