Rebrov v

Following their over-exertion on the Easter Eggs the previous Sunday, the players of Tottenham and Chelsea will have the perfect opportunity to burn off those excess calories in the heat of this London derby.

While lent is the period when many people give up their vices, Sergei Rebrov looked as though he had embarked on a year-long lent when he signed for Tottenham: the vice he had sacrificed being goals! However, following a fairly low-key start to his career in N17, the Ukrainian has shown the Spurs legions that his appetite for the game is back and, with nine Premiership goals under that Eastern European belt of his, Rebrov will be hungry for more.

Chelsea's Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink is no stranger to gorging himself but, while chocolate may be the nation's preferred option at this time of year, the Dutchman's craving is for goals. Recently usurped at the top of the scorers' charts by Marcus Stewart, the free-scoring Hasselbaink will be keen to reclaim pole position as soon as possible.

The £15million summer signing has netted 17 times in the league this season, but Hasselbaink has failed to inspire the Pensioners into a concerted challenge for the title. While the words 'goals' and 'Hasselbaink' go hand in hand, the Dutchman is also a creative force for Chelsea - an aspect of his game that is often overlooked. Hasselbaink has seven goal assists to his name already this term and, when you add that total to his 17 strikes, he has been directly responsible for just under half of all Chelsea's Premiership goals.

Rebrov's impact has been slightly less impressive at Tottenham but he has shown in recent weeks that he is finding his feet in the English top-flight. Four assists emphasise his all round ability but, with Tottenham currently hitting the target with just 41% of their shots (a total that is superior to only three other clubs), if his team-mates finishing was a touch more composed he would undoubtedly have contributed more in this department.

In their last meeting, Chelsea ran out comfortable 3-0 winners at the Bridge with Hasselbaink netting twice. But with Spurs having lost just once in the Premiership on home soil, perhaps this match will give Rebrov the opportunity to put one over on Hasselbaink and his South London colleagues.
