Spurs v Bournemouth - Mauricio's preview

20 March 2016|Tottenham Hotspur

We’re ready – that’s the message from Mauricio Pochettino as we enter the final eight matches in the Premier League.

The first of the final eight sees Bournemouth travel to the Lane this afternoon (4pm).

Eddie Howe’s side have certainly moved on from when we last met in October.

We convincingly won 5-1 that day having gone a goal down inside a minute to leave the Cherries hovering just above the relegation zone.

However, they are now 13th - and 13 points clear of the drop zone.

“Bournemouth are a team that run a lot and try to play in a good way,” said Mauricio. “We come from a very busy period and competing in different competitions but I’m sure we will be ready to compete and we need to show we deserve to win the three points.”

Referring to that 5-1 win, Mauricio added: “It’s always different when you play different games. It’s impossible to take much of a reference from the game we played against Bournemouth.

“We just need to try and play in the way we know we can and try to win the game.

“The next eight games are not just about playing well but deserving to get the points, this is most important as we try to achieve big things at the end of the season.

“All eight games will be difficult, tough, but the team is ready to compete.”
