Spurs TV special - 1984 revisited
05 November 2015|Tottenham Hotspur
Anderlecht's return to White Hart Lane this evening will rekindle memories of one of the greatest nights ever for a generation of Spurs fans.
The Belgian side were last here on May 23, 1984 for the second leg of the UEFA Cup Final.
Level at 1-1 from the first leg in Brussels, pure drama unfolded in front of over 46,000 fans at the Lane and a live TV audience.
The noise of the fans, the thousands who flocked to N17, Steve Archibald's near miss, Anderlecht's goal to take the lead, Ossie Ardiles hitting the crossbar from six yards, Micky Hazard's cross for Graham Roberts to equalise, the penalty shoot-out, Danny Thomas' miss, Tony Parks' saves - it'a a glory, glory night that helps define the history of our famous club.
The 1984 squad got together last summer to mark the 30-year anniversary of that wonderful night and as we prepare to face Anderlecht again tonight in European competition, we're happy to present the special documentary on 1984 filmed by Spurs TV starring the players that made it happen.
