Spurs stories...

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

The next batch of your memories from season 2004-05 featuring TV coverage in the Philippines...

AS I left London heading for the Philippines just over 16 months ago I had a big lump in my throat. Was I going to miss my family, my job (yeah right), my friends, the weather, the food, the beer? No, I was going to miss the boys down at The Lane and how was I going to cope with that? Nobody here had ever heard of the mighty Spurs and there was no Sky services here. How was I going to survive without the boys and football?

Well did I get a surprise, a very pleasant surprise - they have a dedicated football channel, 24 hours a day, seven days a week and football from all over the world! It's called Supersport, which is beamed live into our homes from a cable company in South Africa.

And here is the best bits - 52 quid A YEAR and I get to watch every Spurs home and away match 'LIVE', the full 90 minutes, not edited highlights like on Match of the Day. I get the "Full Motty", oops sorry "The Full Monty" and nothing left out, even with the time difference, I get to record it and watch when I get up the next morning, so now I am a very happy chappy.

I get to watch almost every Premiership game in English and have converted my whole family into Spurs fans, even though they don't understand the offside rule or why the goal scored by Pedro Mendes against United was disallowed.

Thanks lads for a terrific season and I am looking forward very much to the start of the new season with an extra addition to my family, by the time the season starts there will be two new fans to add to my family. My wife is expecting twin boys and they will be members from the day they are born and will be rigged out in Spurs kits and I hope that we can get to the Lane when we come back home for a holiday in February.

Thanks Martin for bringing back the sort of football we love to watch Spurs play and with you at the helm, we all look forward to an excellent season.

Best wishes,

Eddie Maguire

WHAT can I say, for my first ever year as a season ticket holder, I think Tottenham have a very bright future ahead. From changing management during the season after around 12 games, and to bring in a Head Coach like Martin Jol, has been an inspiration to all the fans, old and new.

For some of the memories I have of Tottenham this year, by far the funniest part was Paul Robinson punching Chirpy, I can only assume it was done as a bit of craic. But from where I was sitting it was hilarious. Then, there was the unbelievable result against Everton on New Years Day. It’s one of the most memorable ones because I had been at home in Ireland for the Christmas break and came back on that day, with one of the worst hangovers for a while, and sat watching in amazement, as what I can only describe as ‘ONE OF THE BEST PERFORMANCES IN HISTORY’ as a supporter unfolded (5-2).

And then there’s the dreaded Man Utd game, every Tottenham supporter will never forget that Mendes goal that never was. Dancing around in my local boozer, going mad thinking we had pulled off a win against Man Utd, only too have news relayed that it wasn’t counted as a goal. I was gutted.

As a lifelong Tottenham fan, I would like to wish Paul Robinson all the best on his new contract. Thank you.

See you next season.

ONE OF my favourite moments from last season was on the last day of the season. I sit in the lower stand of the park lane. Before the kick off we were singing to Paul Robinson, “England’s number 1, England’s, England’s number 1”. It was a fantastic atmosphere and you could see how much Robbo loves the fans and how much we love him. He even mentioned it on a recent article and said it nearly bought him to tears. Superb, can’t wait to see him and the rest of the team next season. Come on you SPURS!
