Spurs return to Hong Kong

Mon 08 May 2017, 09:00|Tottenham Hotspur

We are delighted to confirm that we shall visit Hong Kong at the end of the season to play Kitchee SC at the Hong Kong Stadium on Friday 26 May, kick off 8pm local time (1pm UK time).

Formed in 1931, Kitchee SC is one of the most prominent sides in Hong Kong, and secured their eighth top-flight league title this weekend after overturning Eastern's one point lead at the top of the table by defeating them on the final day of the season.

The visit will mark our third trip to Hong Kong in the last nine years following successful visits in 2009, when we played South China, and 2013, when we competed in the Barclays Asia Trophy.

This upcoming fixture will form part of the celebration programmes of the 20th Anniversary of the Reunification of Hong Kong with the People’s Republic of China. Our visit will also be supported by a range of community events held in conjunction with our Official Global Principal Partner, AIA Group, the largest independent publicly listed pan-Asian life insurance group, which is headquartered in Hong Kong. It promises to be an exciting week for the Club and our large fan base in the region, with 17 Official Supporters' Clubs already established across Asia.

Manager Mauricio Pochettino said: "We are delighted to accept the invitation to return to Hong Kong to play against one of their top clubs Kitchee SC and play our part in the anniversary celebrations.

"We are aware of our growing popularity across Asia. This latest visit represents a great chance for us to engage with our loyal fans in the region and thank them for their fantastic support and the commitment they make to watching us at any hour of the day or night. It promises to be a fantastic experience for all the staff and players, some whom will be visiting Hong Kong for the first time, and a great way to conclude what has been an exciting season for the Club."

Tickets go on pre-sale from Wednesday 10 May at 10am local time via

From Monday 15 May, tickets will be available by visiting or by calling (+852) 2111 5333, as well as Cityline outlets.
