spurs (((on!))) team from Norwich

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

We take a look at our opposition in South Africa in the final parts of our 'Countdown to SA' series - kicking-off with champions Orlando Pirates, who we play in Durban on Saturday.

THIS IS ORLANDO PIRATES

Orlando Pirates are the reigning South African champions, having clinched the Premier Soccer League title in May for their second championship in three years.

The club last year celebrated their 65th anniversary and are one of the oldest professional outfits in the country.

The club’s roots are in the famous township of Soweto on the outskirts of Johannesburg and enjoy passionate support around the country.

Known as the ‘Buccaneers’ or ‘Sea Robber’s, they have a large squad packed with internationals, including last year’s leading goal scorer Lesley Manyathela.

The 22-year-old returned at the weekend after a trial at Greek club OFI Crete.

The side are coached by Roy Barretto, former national coach of Zimbabwe, who lead them to the title in his first season in charge.

Pirates are expected to be field several new signings in Saturday’s match against Spurs. They have recently signed Democratic Republic of Congo internationals Felix Mumaba Musasa and goalkeeper Muteba Kidiaba.

Pirates are scheduled to arrive in Durban on Tuesday in preparation for the match.
