Simon Davies has been called up for the Welsh squad to play Belarus in a World Cup qualifier on Saturday October 6.
While Wales are out of contention for a place in Japan and South Korea, a good performance by Simon and his team-mates could well do Sergei Rebrov a favour, as Belarus are breathing down the Ukraine's neck for the Group 5 play-off position.
Not that Sergei will be able to help his countryman overcome already qualified Poland. Sergei will serve a one-match ban following two bookings during qualification.
Norway travel to bottom of the table Armenia in the same group, but will have to do do without Oyvind Leonhardsen and Steffen Iversen. Steffen has been out of action since returning from his last spot of international duty, while Leo is suspended after picking up a second booking of the tournament following a clash with Wales striker Craig Bellamy.
England are not naming their squad for the crucial final game against Greece until after this weekend's games, so Teddy, Darren and, maybe, Ledley will have to wait to see if recent form is to be rewarded. Christian Ziege takes his place in the Germany squad to face Finland.
Kasey Keller is in the United States' squad for their home World Cup qualifier against Jamaica in Boston on Sunday October 7.
Ciaran Toner has been named in the Northern Ireland squad for the European Under-21 Championship qualifier away to Malta on Friday 5 October.
Our youngsters are also in demand on the international stage.
