Spurs Ladies in semi-final action tonight
Wed 01 February 2017, 14:00|Tottenham Hotspur
Spurs Ladies' incredible form this season could start to bear fruit this evening.
They take on West Ham in the semi-final of the Boux Avenue (Ryman) Cup at West Ham Foundation's base in Beckton, kicking-off at 7.30pm.
It's third-time lucky for a fixture that has twice fallen foul of the weather - tonight's game is on a 3G pitch.
Indeed, Spurs last played competitively back on January 8 - when the team stretched their record to 19 wins and a draw in 20 matches with a 3-0 win against Gillingham in the FA Cup.
Spurs remain very much alive and kicking in five competitions. They are top of the FA Women's Premier League South and in three semi-finals - tonight's Boux Avenue Cup, the Capital Cup (Palace away on February 19) and the League Cup (Cardiff at home on March 3). They also travel to Blackburn in the third round of the FA Cup this Sunday.
The club has been on a steady rise for the last three seasons - they reached three cup finals last season and won two - and the players now go into these semi-finals with a different frame of mind, as manager Karen Hills explains.
"The experience that the players have gained over the last couple of seasons means they are excited, but not fazed by these big games," said Karen.
"We've made such a superb start to the season and the key thing now for us is to maintain our standards. We've got ourselves into this position, we're in great shape, the players are confident - it's up to us to go and do it now.
"Everyone is up for it and if anything, being out of action since early January has made the players even more hungry and determined! They can't wait to get back out there!"
