Spurs in HK - Ledley gets to grips with grassroots football

Ledley King visited a session of the Premier Skills programme taking place in Hong Kong during the Barclays Asia Trophy, alongside coaches from the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation.
Our Club Ambassador was joined by Manchester City and Sunderland legends, Mike Summerbee and Niall Quinn, to help coach over 64 boys and girls aged between 8 and 11 from the Hong Kong FA’s and Club and the Cumberland Presbyterian Yao Dao Primary School at Po Kong Village.
Premier Skills, which is run in partnership between the Premier League and British Council, is also running a community coach development course and grassroots referee development course, and Ledley was impressed by what he saw.
After helping out the coaches, signing autographs and handing out special edition Asia Tour t-shirts to all the kids, Ledley gave us his thoughts on what he witnessed.
"Having worked closely with the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation over the past year, I know the positive impact football can have, especially at grassroots level, for communities all over the world,” said our legendary former Club captain.
“The Premier League does great work all over the world and we ourselves will be aiming to leave a footballing legacy in Asia while we are out here for this tour and for many years to come through our Global Coaching programme.”
