Spurs and The Prince's Trust

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

On Monday 15th December our very own John Alexander, Club Secretary, Steve Grenfell, Community Officer, and Linda Watkins, Members Office Manager and Prince's Trust Liaison Officer, attended a very special event to mark six years of Football and The Prince's Trust working together to tackle social exclusion.

HRH The Prince of Wales, together with Prince's Trust Ambassador Gabby Logan joined John, Steve (pictured), Linda and others at Arsenal to celebrate The Prince's Trust Football Initiative, a unique partnership between the FA Premier League, the Football Foundation, the Professional Footballer's Association and The Prince's Trust, that has successfully leveraged football's strengths to help more than 6,000 16-25 year olds turn their lives around.

Spurs is proud to have supported The Prince's Trust since the initiative began in 1997. In 2004 we are developing our part in the project even further, including a new partnership with the Trust's XI Club at Park View Academy.

XI is an informal programme, which aims to re-engage disaffected students aged 14-16 years old. The programme offers young people with the opportunity to investigate issues that concern or affect them directly.

The emphasis is on young people becoming responsible for their own learning and development through activities that they have chosen to explore or undertake.

Football can make a valuable contribution to this process with XI students at Park View set to benefit from a variety of support activities from Spurs including opportunities to be coached, tour the stadium and attend matches.

We are really looking forward to this continuation and development of our work with The Prince's Trust.
