Spurs 4-1 City - Mauricio's verdict
26 September 2015|Tottenham Hotspur
Mauricio Pochettino reflected on a statement win against City and declared: "That was brilliant."
The players showed exactly what they are all about by turning around a 1-0 deficit against a City team that topped the Premier League table at start of play.
Eric Dier started the turn around by rifling home the equaliser just before half-time and we hit the heights in the second half with goals from Toby Alderweireld, Harry Kane and Erik Lamela securing a fabulous 4-1 return.
The result made it six games unbeaten in the Premier League, three wins on the trot and just one goal conceded in the last four league matches as we climbed up to fifth.
"It’s never easy to play against a team like City and I'm pleased with the effort of the players and pleased for the supporters, especially after the disappointment of Wednesday. They deserve this type of victory," said Mauricio.
"We are a very young squad but the players showed fantastic character and personality and that’s important.
"We have big potential and we can improve because we’re very young, but we have to keep working hard and concentrating on our jobs every day.
"We will take it step by step, game by game and we have to keep our feet on the grass. We know this is the way."
