Spurs 4-0 QPR - Mauricio's verdict

Sun 24 August 2014, 17:15|Tottenham Hotspur

Mauricio Pochettino paid tribute to an 'unbelievable performance' after our 4-0 win against QPR on Sunday.

Nacer Chadli scored twice and Eric Dier made it two goals in as many Premier League starts as we raced into a 3-0 lead by half-time.

Winning back possession, quick interplay between the front players and our full-backs raiding down the flanks were features of the performance and that led to the fourth and final goal in the second half as Danny Rose raced down the left and squared for Emmanuel Adebayor to finish.

It was no wonder that Mauricio wore a smile after his first Premier League game as Head Coach at the Lane.

“It was a fantastic performance,” said Mauricio. “We all enjoyed it and we are very pleased because we deserved the win.

“We played like a team. This is the most important thing. It was an unbelievable performance - not only one player, but all the players.

"It was a good performance from Nacer, he scored two goals and for me, the team was outstanding because we played a good game, we were focused and kept a clean sheet. This is also important.”

Mauricio was pleased with the high pressing of the team. “Yes, we had good possession and when we got into space, we always looked to play forward.

“The options were good, the four goals were all different and that’s important as well for our confidence.”
