Spurs 4-0 Newcastle - MOTM result

Christian Eriksen was voted as our Man of the Match by supporters after Wednesday’s 4-0 victory over Newcastle United in the Capital One Cup.

The Dane was directly involved in the build-up to three of our four goals in the fifth round tie at White Hart Lane.

It was from his corner that Nabil Bentaleb netted his first Spurs goal in the first half and it was his pass that allowed Nacer Chadli to double our lead just after the interval.

Similarly, after Christian’s long-range effort was parried by Magpies goalkeeper Jak Alnwick, Roberto Soldado was on hand to fire in our fourth goal to wrap up the scoring.

Christian took 58.4 per cent of the overall Man of the Match poll across our official Twitter and Facebook platforms, as well as on our online Match Centre.
