Spurs 2-2 United - skipper's view

Michael Dawson said the players showed their character in Sunday's 2-2 draw against Manchester United.
We led twice via cracking goals from Kyle Walker and Sandro but were pegged back on both occasions by Wayne Rooney in an exciting Premier League encounter at the Lane.
After the 2-0 win at Tromso in the Europa League on Thursday night, skipper Michael insisted the players responded to last week’s loss at City in the right way back on home soil.
“We took a lot of criticism last week, fully deserved because 6-0 is not acceptable,” said Michael. “But we showed some character out here.
“After the feeling we had last week, to pick ourselves up and go out and perform against top team like United is credit to everyone.
“It’s been a hard week to have that hanging over us but we bounced back and we’re disappointed not to have won after taking the lead twice.
“We kept going, showed commitment and a determination to fight for each other. The fact that we’re disappointed not to beat United says it all.”
Michael was also quick to praise the fans. “They were fantastic and a big thanks to them. In the first half when we were on top the place was rocking and that makes a massive difference.
“You really felt that support and it gets us on the front foot. They stuck with us after last week. That has gone now and we look forward.”
