Spurs 1-0 Swansea - Soldado's delight
26 August 2013|Tottenham Hotspur
Our fans have immediately taken to Roberto Soldado - and the feeling is clearly mutual.
The Spanish striker couldn’t wait to thank the supporters after his match-winning penalty against Swansea on Sunday.
That made it four goals in three matches for Roberto after last week’s penalty ay Palace and a double in midweek as we toppled Dinamo Tbilisi 5-0 in the Europa League play-off, first leg in Georgia.
“I played my first game against Espanyol and the fans were fantastic when I scored my first goal and today (Sunday) they were right behind me, chanting my name and it’s an honour to play for a club when the fans are like that," he said.
Roberto went on to give his early thoughts on the differences he’s found between La Liga and the Premier League.
“The game is a lot more physical and the play is broken up more, so it’s not as fluid, so I will have to adapt to play like that, which I’m trying to do for my team-mates,” he added.
“Every game is very hard in the Premier League - just look at Manchester City, they lost 3-2 at Cardiff. We are doing well, we have to keep focused and keep trying to improve all the time.”
