Sound Offs: Premiership teams
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Richard Birkinshaw: As much as it pains me to say it I believe that Pires of them is by far the player of the season as he has performed consistently well throughout the year. I would also nominate Jerzy Dudek of Liverpool as he has been outstanding in his first season in the premiership and hasn't been at fault for any goal that Liverpool have conseeded. Realisticly I don't think any Spurs player has performed well enough to be considered for player of the season however I do think that Christian Ziege should be named Tottenham's player of the season.
Danny Betts: Up until recently I would have given my vote to Teddy. However, in the last few games he has been very disppointing and instead I would opt for Christian Ziege. All season long he has been fantastic. He has been superb going forward - creating numerous chances and scoring many goals. He has been defensively sound and I bet now that Liverpool wish they had kept him. Great signing Glenn!
Kaare Madsen: The Team of the Season 01-02: Dudek - Unsworth, Hyypia, Riise - Pires, Keane, Vieira, Giggs - Poyet - Nistelrooy, Hasselbaink. Subs: Scmeichel, Harte, Murphy, Beckham and Henry. Other subjects could be: Kiely, C. Powell, Dunn, Duff, Rio F, Hamann, Collins and Fowler.
Steven Betts: Dudek, King, Terry, Hypia, Gerrard, Beckham, Vieira, Scholes, Pires, Van Nilsterooy, Hasselbaink.
Nicolas Perrot: Firstly, I believe Robert Pires has been this season's best player in the Premier League. My best Premiership XI for this seaon would be, with Gerard Houllier as its manager (4-3-3): 1. Cudicini 2. S.Davies 3. Silvestre 4. Hyypia 5. Ferdinand 6. Gerrard 7. Pires 8. Bellamy 9. Gudjohnsen 10. Van Nistelrooy 11. Giggs.
Dom Davey: Cudicini (Chelsea, sorry!)/Harte (Leeds); Hyppia (Liverpool); Ferdinand (Leeds); Bridge (Saints)/Pires (Arsenal, sorry!); Malbranque (Fulham); Beckham (Man U); Anderton (Spurs)/Van Nistelrooy (Man U); Henry (Arsenal, sorry!)
For me Anderton has had a cracking season on the whole, as have many others... King, Poyet, Ziege, etc. but having lost his sicknote reputation, he has proved his quality on the pitch. As for the rest of my team of season... it should be obvious.
Richard Prestidge: I'm going for a 4-4-2
Cudicini - Chelsea, kept them up.
Riise - Liverpool. How did we miss him ???
Harte - Leeds, worth his weight in gold, just for freekicks.
Ledley King - Spurs, SOL Who ?
Dabizas - Newcastle, scores plenty.
Kewell - Leeds, Even an average season he has scored 9 or 10 !
Beckham - Manc Utd, a must.
Pires - Arsenal - Ouch, this one hurts, but, yet again, why did we not get him ?????
T.Sinclair - West Ham, let's get him ASAP.
Van Nistelrooy - Manc Utd, What can I say ?
Gudjohnson - Chelsea, far too good for them !
