Sound Offs: On the season

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Tony Lim: We must learn how to avoid injuries and clumsy bookings. We must learn to keep our winning edge and not to lose concentration when playing crucial games. If we can avert these problems, glory days would be beckoning!

Tim Phelps: I think that the season was going well up to a point but all good things have to come to an end and so did the season. I think that we've made a very good signing in Jamie and he should help us out a lot in our play next season.

Dan Aves: Jamie on a free is a good deal, but can he reproduce form of a couple of years ago? I'd play him as the holding player with Anderton & Poyet/Davies. Defence looks great with potentially two complete sets, injuries permitting. Rebrov is a quality player but it just hasn't worked for some reason. Help him & us by selling him to get a real goal threat like gambling on Phillips or breaking the bank on a top name centre forward.

Simon Dempsey: Our 2000/01 campaign was satisfactory but I can't help feeling we are a little static. A big name signing would keep us fans at bay for a couple of seasons, a holding player in the midfield-someone like Edgar Davids would be perfect. When people such as Josep Guardiola become available for free we should definitely stick our oar in. Another striker would be nice too - Robbie Keane - reportedly being made available by Leeds would would be a good signing.

Mark Shere-Massey: The signing of Redknapp is a good move by Glenn, however, this will not be enough if we are to improve on last season. Our league position was rubbish for a club of are size and we should have won both the Worthington cup and the F.A. cup. I feel that it has been a good start but we are a long way from a championship winning team, which has to be our aim.

Kandida Kawen: We had our ups and downs. There were some memorable moments. Like beating Chelsea, Leeds and Liverpool. The more senior players surprised us all the time. Everybody said these 'oldies' will bring Spurs down to the very bottom, but time and time again they proved the critics wrong. The youngsters should follow their examples. We may not be in the finest of forms but there's always next season and, along with the faith of fans all over the world, we may conquer all odds.

Daniel Holladay: Dissapointing. We played brilliant football at times, but did not kill off teams when we had the chance. Far too many times we lost or drew games we should have won. On the positive side, the football was excellent. Glenn has brought the passing style we love, and we are one the way up again. We need to build next season, which I believe we will.

Andrew Mullen: In context this season was a success. In Glenn's first season we had good cup runs and decent results in the league. We could have acheived more but injuries to key players robbed us of a European slot. If we can make some more quality acquisitions during the summer and keep together a squad that is fit and pushes each other for first team starts then silverware should come back to the lane!!

Andrew Lewin: This season I feel that we have not played that well overall in the season considering the individual talent the team has. After the worthington cup defeat, we haven't played the football the everyone was so used to seeing before.

Koonal Shah: It's been a decent season, considering that we didn't make it to the top half of the table last year. But after a very promising start, I am disappointed at the fact that we slipped to 9th. The reason for this: predictability. Glenn didn't change the team around when they were looking tired or poor and failed to use the talents of Etherington and Rebrov properly. Things can get better next season, if Glenn is willing to be a bit more ruthlss with his underperforming players!
