Sound Offs: On season 3
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
James White: On the whole, 2001/02 was a dissapointment; 2 good cup runs and an early season charge means nothing if you don't come away with some silverware and a European place. We must be more clinical in front of goal next season so its bye bye Sergei and Sir Les. Also, Freundy and Timmay are getting on a bit so we need a good quality defensive midfielder. Lets hold fire on any new signings until after the World Cup, always a good opportunity to snap up a bargain South American or a cut price African.
Jared Carroll: It was wonderful to see us passing the ball for a change and to be in the top half of the table for most of the season was fantastic, just a real shame we did not make Europe but I am sure Glenn will get us there this time round.
Jason Wells: Everyone knows we need European football but first we need two top strikers, our defence is good and we have a strong midfield now. Now Glenn has to do some good work getting two or three strikers. I just hope it is not one in and one out, i.e Rebrov. People keep saying Rebrov is world class, but in the premiership he is just not strong enough on the ball. If we could get 5mil for him it will be a bonus. We need Kevin philips, Jay Jay
Ococha and a young player like Bobby Zamora. I know it is sad to say it but Ferdinand, Rebrov, Iversen have all had there day! We also have good young strikers at the lane but they are just not ready yet, maybe in two years they will be but the truth is we need two new strikers for the new season.
Alan Carlton: At times we produced great approach play only to be let down by poor finishing which let our opponents of the hook. Perhaps a warm welcome to Henrik Larsson in August may solve our striker problem. We need a proven goalscorer to be able to move on to the next level.
Thomas Gifford: If spurs are to do well in the up coming season then they need to lower the age of the squad a little. Last season we started off well but then the core of the team became tired due to their age and so we struggled when it came to the final push (worthington cup final, place in europe). I hope Glenn Hoddle spots some young talent with great pace this world cup. "Good luck spurs"!
Dave Beese: Great signings Acimivic and Redknapp, next we need a striker, Phillips still fits the bill, so why are we waiting? If we can't get Phillips what about the Turk Hasan Sas?
