Sound Offs: On season 2
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Gillian Eagle: This season would have been a greater success if we had won the Worthington Cup and gained a place in Europe. Glenn has made some fantastic signings and let's hope that more top quality players are on their way and then next season we may challenge seriously for a European spot. We were unlucky this season with so many injuries to top quality players. Maybe we need to review our training techniques for the next campaign.
Barton Fink: The 2001/02 campaign showed how good we can be. We played some excellent passing football but just need a bigger squad, which, I think, would lead to more consistency too.
Alan Shawcroft: Just when we needed to keep the momentum going (Wothington cup, FA cup and league), we suffered the same old dip in form and fear of failure factor, that finished off our season. Spurs need someone who will run his socks off for 90 minutes, which will hopefully motivate the rest of the team to produce a TEAM performance. We also need some good news on the transfer front. At the moment all we're hearing about is other teams in the premiership active in the transfer market... or are we just hoping that like an end of season sale, there'll be a bargain that everyone else has missed!
Baz Nevin: I know we have just bought two new midfielders but if we were to get JAY JAY OCOCHA and a quality striker (that means 25 goals a season) along with the injured players of last year returning you have got to say that European football is a must.
Ria Harrison: I feel that Spurs started the season in such a positive way and from the worthington cup on-wards all the passion was lost! We need to buy new strikers and begin to play football more like a team. I feel that the Spurs fans didn't get behind the team enough last season and hope that this season coming everyone will support win or lose. The Players need all the support they can get from the crowd on match days!!
Rory Fairchild: I am a long time Tottenham fan, as my dad grew up within kicking distance of White Hart Lane. I am now teaching my daughters to sing for Teddy. Just wanted to congratulate the team on a much improved season - we have been watching here in Squamish. It is hard to get the games though, as Canadian broadcasters seem to think that Man Utd is the only team in England. Best of luck for next season. Come on you Spurs!
