Sound Offs: Europe 2

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Sam Moore: As Luke said (see top) I think Glenn has drummed it into them how important it is to keep possesion and fight for the ball when we haven't got it. This is the key to doing well in Europe. You can't afford to give the ball away against the likes of the two Milan clubs or Barcelona or they will punish you for it. I think it is vital that Spurs qualify for Europe as it will help to attract top European players to the club. With the likes of Poyet and Bunjevecevic (who have both played in other European leagues) in the side then there is no reason why we couldn't do well in Europe.

Carl Gwilliam: It would all depend on what players are brought in before the new season. We are playing some great football right now and to be where we are in the league shows we have come on leaps and bounds, especially as the team has not changed that much - so with some good buys in the summer who knows what we could do it would take a couple of seasons, but hopfully we are on course to become a strong force again.

James Fisher: I think that our current style of football would be very suited to European football. We are playing exciting, attacking football with the defence (excluding the Charlton game) looking very solid and sure to improve. The 3-5-2 formation is working well with a good spread of qualities in midfield, from the defensive Freund to the more attacking
minded Gus and Dazza, and the wing-backs supplying the forwards successfully. To go far in Europe, we would need a bit more depth in the squad, but Hoddle's signings have been excellent so far and his judgement impecible. It's starting to look very promising down at the lane.

Bradley Ellison: I think our style is well suited, European teams still respect the Spurs and would not relish coming to the lane. I think we need 3 more players to add depth to our squad, players like Ronaldinho, Effenberg, Owen Hargreaves and I would love to see Salas or Fillipo Inzaghi in a Spurs shirt, no team would want to play us with these players added to our squad. I think we will finish 5 in the league this year as well as win the Worthy cup and go a long way in Europe next year.

Isaiah Robertson: I think we will do much better than last time we were in Europe, as we have a lot more depth and experience than last time. However, we still need a tremendous passer in the midfield, who can create a chance with just one pass. Also, Sergei looks better this year - give him more of a run in the team. To be sucessful, we need world class players. Give the money to Glenn, and he'll give you results.

Iain Lumsden: I think we have the strength in depth and also experience to cope in Europe. I think our style of play will be suited to European competition although I think our midfield especially in the centre would need strengthening. I think the team need to gain experience soon expecially in the UEFA cup to give players like Ledley King experience.

Adam Preist: I think we are certainly better equiped for Europe now than we were the last time. We have stronger players in the first eleven and a stronger bench too. However, to realistically make a good challenge in Europe, alongside making a good challenge domestically, we would rely heavily on the board giving Glenn the money for at least 3 world class players. Also on the plus side, I definitely feel that the flexibility of our tactics and formation (swapping from 3-5-2 to 4-4-2) will be an added advantage on the European stage.

Paul Watts-Othen: I think We could fair quite well in UEFA and achieve the later rounds judging by the quality we have shown so far. For instance the first 45 against Man Utd, we looked like the team who'd been dominating the Premiership for the last 10 years. As for the Champions league, I think we need more depth.
