Sound Offs - Best foreign signing (4)

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Paul Gibbens: The double-signing of Ardiles and Villa in 1978. It's easy to forget that when they joined, Spurs had just scraped out of the second division, but Ossie and Ricky gave the team a style and pedigree that led to three cups in the next six years. We all know about Ricky's fantastic goal in the 81 final, but perhaps Ossie's unsuccessful spell as manager has clouded the memory about how influential he was in an earlier era, alongside Glenn in Spurs midfield.

Elliot Mullish: Ossie Ardiles, he took the team from being average into title challenging and made us exciting to watch - he played football the way it should be played.

Robert Barden: I think Jurgen Klinsmann (in his first spell) was the best signing. His finishing was out of this world and gained points at vital times. David Ginola was the best entertainer.

Liam Taylor: It's a tie between Ossie Ardiles and Jurgen Klinsmann. Both players were 100% world class when they joined, and both transfers rocked the football world. Ricky Villa should also get a mention as he won us the 1981 F.A. Cup. Many people are naming Steffen Freund! Okay, he's 100% committed, but that should never be put above sheer class and ability.

Tony Lim: Ardiles, Villa and Klinsmann without any doubt. These are truly world-class players! Robbie Keane could be our next hero.

R Amsden: Klinsmann was the best in my eyes. He gave inspiration to the club and fans and was a great influence on the other players. My father contests both Ardiles & Villa, who helped make Spurs history, are the greatest imports.

Paul Geoghegan: I think as a signing Klinsmann was our best although overall Villa and Ardiles gave much more to the club as a whole.

Carl Beard: Well you instantly look at the greats Ginola, Klinsman, Villa, Ardiles - an endless list of quality. However for passion I feel Steffen Freund has provided us with some great moments over the years. Without his "Comedy" act in midfield our past few seasons would have been boring. His love of the fans touches my heart and I'm sure other Spurs fans feel the same.

Jeremy Robinson: Without a doubt the legend Jurgen Klinsmann is top of my foriegn signing imports. He scored a hack-full of goals and without him relegation was a certain. He also had the ability to get the crowd on the edge of their seats!
