Sound Offs: Best back line

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Georgina Hill: Deano, Perry and the King are without question the best defensive combination. At long last we look strong at the back AND are playing attractive football.

Nick Riviera: Er... you've fogotten about Doc! Ideally, Richards and King would always play, with one of Perry, Bunje or Doc. It's a tough choice for me to make because I'm such a big fan of the entire Spurs defence! Spurs are particularly spoilt for choice as King has switched to defence and has been magnificent. Gardner should be given his chance at some point, as I haven't seen enough of him. Unfortunately, I can't see Thelwell being anything more than a fringe player. I might be mistaken, but can't Bunje also play in either of the wing-back roles? He's a great talent, and would probably do well as Ziege's back-up, or as Carr's back-up (I reckon he would do a better job than Taricco).

Andrew Butler: Dean Richards, Ledley King, Goran Bunjevcevic is the best partnership.

Lee Benjamin: I think that Perry is pretty bad and I think that Gardner should be given a chance. P.S. Ledley for England

Kare Moller Madsen: Our back three is excellent. Spurs "problem" this season hasn't been the defending part of the game but the attacking! It is nice with great subs - and they will get their chance later on in the season (injuries, bans). Hoddle has decided to keep the same 11 for most matches and now it is beginning to pay off. We still need to improve to stay in the top six though - especially our shooting accuracy. The Opta Stat prove that we are one of the worst teams in the premiership when it comes to finishing. So maybe we should work with that part of the game a lot more in training...

Steve Course: The system seems to be working well as it is at the moment so I see no reason to change it. I thought that Goran would replace Perry but Perry reads the game so well that I feel he was always going to have more luck in a back 3 where the pressure isn't on for him to necesarily mark, and hence the opposition cannot play on his lack of height. Stick with it Glenn, if it isn't broken don't fix it!

Kenard Bernard: I think Ledley King (in time) could do similar job for us as Patrick Viera. So I'd play him in the centre alongside Anderton and put Goran Bunjevcevic in defence.

Nik Williams: Well personaly I think that Bunjy, King and Deano is the combo to have. I have never had any confidence in Chris Perry.

Simon Buckingham: Taricco, Deano, Bunjy, Carr.
