Heung-Min Son is determined to build on his goal against Borussia Dortmund in what he describes as “a very important game” against AFC Bournemouth on Sunday.
The South Korean international pounced on a defensive error to finally breach Dortmund’s resistance in the second leg of our Europa League round of 16 tie at White Hart Lane on Thursday night.
It was his first goal since our 2-0 FA Cup third round replay victory at Leicester City back in January and, while he admitted his disappointment after being dumped out of Europe with a 5-1 aggregate defeat, he confirmed he’s determined to play his part in front of goal as we embark on our last eight Premier League games of the season.
“Okay, I scored against Dortmund – I wasn’t really happy because we are out of the Europa League – but for me it’s very important now to keep going with my head up,” he said.
“We have a very big match on Sunday, it’s very important for the team so I have to be fit and ready for this game. We know how important the matches are now – we are out of the Europa League but now we can concentrate on the league.
“We have just eight matches but we have to look at it game to game. We have to play every game like we normally play and take our chances every time.
“Sunday’s game at home to Bournemouth is obviously very important. It’s not going to be easy but we have to bring 100 per cent because it’s important to win.”
Kick-off is at 4pm.
