Sonny Sunday!

20 September 2015|Tottenham Hotspur

Heung-Min Son said it was ‘amazing’ to score the winner against Palace on his home debut in the Premier League.

The South Korean star has made quite an impact in his first week at the club.

He kicked-off his Spurs career by helping us to a 1-0 win at Sunderland last Sunday, scored twice on his home debut in the Europa League on Thursday night and now fired home the only goal of the game to secure three hard-earned points against Palace.

The goal started deep in our half in the 68th minute when Erik Lamela and Eric Dier won possession. Lamela found Christian Eriksen who sent Sonny away in the left channel. He drove into the box, shifted left away from Brede Hangeland and shot through Alex McCarthy in the Palace goal.

“I’m really happy because we won the game and of course because I scored,” he said.

“Chris played the ball to me, it was one against one against the centre-back, I went to my left foot and shot. Perhaps it was a little lucky! It was really amazing. The fans were incredible. I’m really happy.

“It was hard work. Palace were strong and they have a good team We really wanted to win this game, every player worked hard and it was amazing to win.”
